6th February 2016 – Marlborough

I’ve been meaning to head to Marlborough to check out Sound Knowledge Records for a while now and finally got round to it. Nice to check out an independent record store but sadly this was a total let down for me.  The fact that the window said “vinyls” was instantly bad news.  Entering the shop, the vinyl is located upstairs, now they have a decent sized section but sadly it’s just run of the mill albums for the NME generation.  The “punk” section housed nothing pack 1980 which was a shame.  The prices were a little over the top as expected as well, £5 on all 7” singles for example and albums from £19-£28 roughly.  I didn’t even feel that it was a warm welcome in there and left empty handed.  I won’t be going back there that’s for sure.

Luckily after trawling all the charity shops in Marlborough high street I did manage to pick up one LP for just £2 which is a bit of a rock classic. “Hysteria” by Def Leppard – complete with stickers on the front.  I only know a couple of the songs on here from the 80’s so will definitely be checking it out fully.  Nice addition and in great condition.
